Huckabee Blames Biblical Illiteracy for US Shift on Israel

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee attributed the recent drop in American public favor toward Israel to a widespread lack of biblical literacy among the population.

During a Thursday interview, he identified three main causes for this decline. He pointed to foreign propaganda and disinformation as key factors driving negative sentiment against the state.

He also cited hatred directed at believers who accept divine rules for life. The third reason he offered was a general ignorance of biblical texts among many citizens today.

Huckabee argued that these elements combine to create anger. He suggested people simply want to blame Israel for various issues without understanding the full context or historical background.

He rejected claims of genocide in Gaza as false. He also dismissed accusations that Israel operates as an apartheid state, urging Americans to examine the truth for themselves.

A Pew Research poll from April showed sixty percent of US adults held an unfavorable view of Israel. Support remained stronger among white evangelicals, with sixty five percent viewing it favorably.

Another survey from July indicated more Americans believed Israel committed genocide than those who did not. Yet roughly half of respondents said they lacked sufficient knowledge to form a definite opinion.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticized New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani at the UN. He claimed Jewish residents no longer felt safe, while Mamdani had previously discussed executing an ICC warrant.
