Israeli Forces Arrest Dozens Including Journalist in West Bank Raids

Israeli forces arrested at least thirty Palestinians including a journalist and injured two others during widespread raids across the occupied West Bank early Thursday. The operations involved home invasions and field interrogations while Israeli occupiers attacked homes and set fire to agricultural land near Ramallah according to Palestinian sources.

The Palestinian Prisoners Media Office reported that troops arrested at least twenty-three young men from Hajja village east of Qalqilya. Soldiers raided dozens of residences in the area and subjected local residents to intense field interrogations during the early morning incursion into the community.

In Ramallah, forces raided the home of journalist Alaa Al-Rimawi in the al-Masayef neighborhood of al-Bireh before arresting him. His family stated he was taken to an undisclosed location less than a year after his release from two years of administrative detention on October 7, 2025.

Rimawi previously worked as a correspondent for Al Jazeera Mubasher and managed the G Media network. He had been detained in April 2021 and released after a hunger strike. His recent arrest marks another instance of targeting media personnel in the occupied territories during ongoing military campaigns.

In Jenin province, troops arrested two brothers in Ya'bad while another Palestinian was detained in Nablus province after being assaulted. Forces also raided Qaryut village where they searched a home for hours and stole money. In Al-Ain refugee camp, soldiers turned homes into interrogation centers.

In Abu Dis, forces took control of the local club and damaged it while detaining numerous young men for questioning. Troops also arrested members of the Al-Masimi family including a girl and her father. Local schools suspended classes in Nablus due to the security situation and road closures.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society confirmed one man was shot with live ammunition in Qalqilya while another with a disability suffered breathing difficulties from tear gas. Separately, settlers set fire to land in Burqa village east of Ramallah. Flames spread toward residential areas in repeated attacks on Palestinian property and crops.
