MSF warns engine oil restrictions are deepening Gaza's energy crisis
Hospitals, water pumping and food supply chains all depend on the same generators.
Médecins Sans Frontières has warned that Israeli restrictions on the entry of engine oil and essential spare parts into the Gaza Strip are deepening the territory's energy crisis.
The organisation said the shortage puts hospitals, water supply and food distribution at risk, all three of which run on generator power.
Engine oil is consumable rather than durable: a generator running continuously needs it replaced on a schedule, and running without it destroys the engine outright.
