Gaza Mourns 100 Victims as New Attacks Injure Seven Palestinians
A mass funeral was held for recovered bodies while fresh strikes injured displaced families in multiple areas across the strip.
A solemn funeral ceremony took place in Gaza on Saturday for approximately one hundred Palestinians. Their bodies were recently recovered from the rubble of homes destroyed by previous Israeli attacks. Relatives gathered to mourn these victims amidst ongoing violence and new injuries reported across the strip.
The ceremony occurred in the Zeitoun neighbourhood, located southeast of Gaza City. Residents and family members came together to pay their final respects to the deceased. This collective mourning highlighted the enduring human cost of the prolonged conflict and destruction in the region.
According to Gaza civil defence authorities, the deceased included fifty-five members of the Malka family. Their remains were found underneath the rubble of a building in the Zeytoun area. These victims had sought refuge in that specific building roughly two years ago during an earlier bombing campaign.
While the community mourned, new violence erupted elsewhere. Two children were among seven Palestinians injured in recent Israeli attacks. Al Jazeera reported these incidents, citing Turkey's Anadolu agency. The attacks targeted various areas, causing fresh suffering for displaced populations already enduring harsh conditions.
Israeli naval forces fired at tents housing displaced Palestinians in the Al-Khalidi area. This action resulted in injuries to two people. In a separate incident, a child was hurt during an attack on another displacement camp in the as-Sudaniya area of northwestern Gaza.
Three more individuals were injured in an Israeli air raid on the Tuffah neighbourhood. A child was also admitted to hospital with minor shrapnel wounds from the same strike. These reports cited Palestinian Red Crescent Society and Al-Ahli Arab Hospital sources regarding the medical status of the wounded.
