Artillery and airstrikes hit Daraa and southern Lebanon, continuing violence despite agreements and causing significant casualties and displacement in the region.

Israel Strikes Syria and Lebanon Amid Ongoing Border Tensions

Israeli troops fired artillery and machine guns at western Daraa countryside in Syria early Monday. They also launched air raids and shelling across multiple zones in southern Lebanon on the same day, with no injuries reported in the Syrian incidents.

Shells were directed toward Abidin and Al-Raqqad valleys while hitting Jamla village outskirts in Yarmouk Basin. Forces additionally opened fire from positions along the 1974 disengagement line toward the outskirts of Abidin town in the southern province specifically.

These strikes followed dual shelling of southern Quneitra countryside just a day prior within hours. The earlier bombardment targeted areas southeast of Al-Rafid town and Bir Ajam village woodland with heavy artillery fire, according to official state media reports.

In Lebanon, warplanes hit Kfar Tebnit outskirts and Ali al-Taher woodland overnight into Monday morning. Artillery intermittently struck Nabatieh al-Fawqa, Zawtar al-Sharqiyeh, and Khallet Mayfadoun during night, also targeting towns like Beit Lif and Hadatha in Bint Jbeil district.

Attacks since March 2 have killed at least 4,386 people and injured 12,407 others in Lebanon. These assaults continue despite a US-brokered agreement signed in June that provides for gradual Israeli withdrawal in exchange for Lebanese army deployment and Hezbollah disarmament measures.
