MSF Bus Hit in Gaza City Strike, One Worker Injured

An Israeli airstrike damaged a Doctors Without Borders bus in Gaza City on September 13. The medical charity reported that one staff member sustained injuries during the incident. The vehicle was transporting ten humanitarian workers at the time of the strike.

The organization stated that the targeted vehicle was hit just two meters away from their bus. This proximity caused significant damage to the transport unit. The group emphasized that the bus was clearly identifiable with a large logo visible on its roof.

Doctors Without Borders condemned the action as a blatant disregard for safety. They accused Israeli forces of ignoring the protection owed to medical personnel. The statement highlighted the recurring nature of such dangerous incidents in the region.

The charity asserted that no place in Gaza remains safe for anyone. It called for immediate protection of civilians and health care workers. Humanitarian staff conducting lifesaving operations also require urgent safeguards from all parties involved.

MSF urged respect for international law regarding marked vehicles. Clearly identified medical and humanitarian transports must be spared from attacks. This appeal comes amid continuing strikes and repeated international warnings about civilian safety.

Recent figures from Gaza’s Health Ministry indicate rising casualties. Israeli violations of the ceasefire have killed 1,372 Palestinians recently. Additionally, 4,659 others have sustained injuries according to the latest available data from the ministry.

Since October 2023, the conflict has claimed more than 73,000 Palestinian lives. Over 174,000 individuals have been injured during this period. The war has also destroyed around ninety percent of the enclave’s existing infrastructure completely.
