Settlers Detain Palestinians in West Bank and Storm Jerusalem Plaza
Israeli settlers cut water lines and attacked activists while thousands performed rituals near Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem.
Eight Palestinians were detained by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank village of Ad-Deqaiqa. Several others suffered suffocation from pepper spray attacks near al-Mughayyir village. These incidents occurred alongside raids by Israeli forces and widespread settler violence across the region on Saturday evening.
Anti-settler activist Osama Makhamreh reported that eight individuals were taken during an attack in Masafer Yatta. Settlers attempted to steal livestock from residents in the area south of Hebron. The detained persons included Nasser Ahmad Nasser al-Najadeh and his son Salem among other local farmers and community members.
Settlers also cut the main water line supplying Ad-Deqaiqa village. This action deprived approximately seven hundred residents of essential water access. In a separate incident, colonists attacked the home of Khairy Abu Tuffah in Khallet al-Hummus. They assaulted his family and foreign solidarity activists present at the residence.
In Jenin, settlers cut down thirty guava trees owned by farmer Khaled Mohammad Amarnah. The destruction took place in Khirbet Firasin near Ya'bad town. Meanwhile, Israeli settlers under military protection attacked the outskirts of Abu Falah village northeast of Ramallah. Forces simultaneously raided a commercial shop in the same area.
Near al-Mughayyir village, settlers used pepper spray against Palestinians causing suffocation. Village council head Amin Abu Alia confirmed the injuries. The attackers also targeted an ambulance belonging to the local council as it moved to assist the injured. The vehicle sustained material damage during this deliberate obstruction of medical aid.
Israeli forces raided al-Mughayyir village multiple times since last night. Soldiers searched several homes and ransacked their contents. They assaulted several Palestinians during these operations. The repeated incursions caused significant distress and property damage for the residents living in the village under ongoing military pressure.
Thousands of Israeli settlers stormed the Al-Buraq Wall plaza west of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem. They performed Talmudic rituals at the site. Last Sunday, around two hundred forty colonists entered the mosque compound through the Moroccan Gate. Their actions violated the nineteen sixty-seven status quo agreement governing the holy site.
