Violence escalates north of Hebron while Washington moves to penalize the court over warrants issued for Israeli leaders.

Settlers Attack Palestinians in West Bank as US Prepares ICC Sanctions

Israeli settlers torched a Palestinian vehicle and attacked residents north of Hebron in the occupied West Bank. The group also attempted to seize a child during the violent incident, according to reports on Sunday.

A Palestinian man stated that settlers approached his car before setting it ablaze. They then moved to attack him directly as tensions rose sharply in the area surrounding the southern city of Hebron.

Media activist Mohammed Awad reported that two homes were broken into during the raid. Women and children were assaulted inside, and the attackers made a serious attempt to take a child away from the family.

In a separate incident, Israeli troops swept through villages in the western Jenin area. Soldiers detained several residents and compelled shopkeepers to shutter their premises while searching houses in Raba village.

The Trump administration is preparing to impose sanctions on the International Criminal Court. Officials said most transactions with the court would be forbidden after a grace period.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order to sanction the ICC in late January 2025. This follows arrest warrants issued in November 2024 for Prime Minister Netanyahu and former defence minister Yoav Gallant.
