Bennett Labels Settler Arson Against Palestinians as Jewish Terrorism

Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has strongly condemned recent attacks where Israeli settlers set fire to Palestinian homes with residents inside. Speaking at the Besheva conference on Sunday, he described these violent acts as Jewish terrorism that targets innocent civilians without justification or mercy.

Bennett stated that violence against civilians motivated by nationalism clearly meets the definition of terrorism. He argued that burning down the homes of innocent Arabs while people are inside constitutes a severe crime. He emphasized that such actions do not serve the broader goals of the settlement movement in any way.

These remarks arrive as Israel prepares for its general election scheduled for October twenty seventh. Bennett is currently campaigning to return to power in a highly competitive race. His political alliance faces strong competition from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party and Gadi Eisenkot’s Yashar party in this tight contest.

The comments occur amid escalating settler attacks against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. Communities have faced assaults on homes, vehicles, farmland and livestock recently. International condemnation of such violence has grown due to concerns about land seizure efforts. These attacks further entrench Israeli control over the occupied territories significantly.
