Education official: about 80% of Gaza schools are out of service
Some 127,000 students are without schooling, according to the East Gaza directorate.

Munir Abu Zuaiter, Director of Education for East Gaza, said that around 80% of schools in the Gaza Strip are out of service because of damage to educational buildings, leaving about 127,000 students without schooling.
School buildings in the Strip serve a second function as shelters for displaced families, so their loss removes both the classroom and the shelter.
No timeline was given for returning the damaged buildings to use.
