Israel Seizes Land in Qabatia for Military Road

Israeli authorities ordered the seizure of 7.498 dunums of Palestinian land in Qabatia, south of Jenin. The urgent military order cites security grounds for confiscating plots in the northern occupied West Bank town.

The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission identified the targeted areas as Basins 28 and 34. Military Order No. M.D. 28/26 authorizes taking control of specific parcels located between several designated sites within the municipality.

Attached maps indicate plans to build a military road from an existing route. This new path will lead to a planned military watchtower, granting Israeli forces full control over the designated land for sixty days.

Legal appeals face strict limits under this directive. Affected landowners must file objections within twenty-four hours of a field inspection conducted by the Israeli Coordination and Liaison Administration during the validity period.

The project lies directly north of the recently established outpost known as Noah. Additional structures have been installed there in recent months, linking the new military infrastructure to ongoing colonial expansion efforts in the area.

Palestinian officials warn such orders facilitate de facto annexation. Reports note that temporary security measures often create lasting changes, serving nearby colonies. Amnesty International highlighted similar seizures in Jenin as accelerating unlawful annexation processes.
