Israeli Forces Violate Gaza Ceasefire with Shelling and Arrests

Israeli forces continued violating the Gaza ceasefire on Tuesday by carrying out artillery shelling and heavy gunfire across several areas of the Strip. The escalation included naval actions that resulted in the detention of ten Palestinian fishermen off the coast.

In northern Gaza, military vehicles opened heavy machine-gun fire toward areas east of Gaza City and Jabalia. Naval forces also fired toward Palestinian waters off the northern coast, adding to the intensity of the violations reported throughout the day.

Central Gaza witnessed Israeli military vehicles operating southeast of Deir al-Balah firing smoke and explosive shells near al-Batoun Street. This action caused panic among civilians, particularly women and children, while artillery also struck the eastern Bureij refugee camp.

Southern Gaza saw Israeli forces opening fire toward tents sheltering displaced Palestinians east of Khan Younis. Heavy gunfire was reported in this area as well, while artillery shelled areas west of Rafah, continuing a pattern of attacks on civilian zones.

The Palestinian Fishermen's Committees stated that naval forces detained ten fishermen after opening fire on their boats. The detainees were transferred to the Israeli-controlled Ashdod port, marking another incident in the ongoing restrictions imposed on maritime activities.

Gaza’s Ministry of Health reported that ceasefire violations have killed 1,325 Palestinians since October 2025. The total death toll from the war since October 2023 has reached 73,461, with injuries exceeding 174,496, as humanitarian aid entry remains severely restricted.
