UN Warns of Civilian Risks Amid Ongoing Gaza Strikes

The United Nations expressed grave concern over ongoing Israeli airstrikes in Gaza. Spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric warned of devastating impacts on civilians and hospitals. This alert follows continued military attacks despite the ceasefire that began in October 2025.
Dujarric stressed that civilian facilities must never be targeted. He cited recent reports of deaths, including a young child. An Israeli strike also damaged the Al-Aqsa Hospital compound in Deir al-Balah. Protection of infrastructure remains a critical priority for the organization.
Local health officials reported two Palestinians killed in Deir al-Balah on Sunday. A three-year-old boy was among the victims. Strikes the following day killed at least five others across the region. Medical sources confirmed these casualties amid the escalating violence.
Two people died near a municipal park in Gaza City. Displaced families crowded the area when the strike hit. Another attack on a vehicle in western Gaza City killed three. These incidents highlight the unpredictable danger facing residents daily.
Since the ceasefire began, 1,318 Palestinians have been killed. Another 4,375 individuals suffered injuries during this period. Rescue teams recovered hundreds of bodies from beneath the rubble. Total casualties since October 2023 exceed seventy-three thousand deaths.
Insufficient aid hinders preparations for the coming rainy season. Agencies face shortages of fuel and heavy machinery. Many displaced families remain in tents exposed to flooding risks. The UN warned that humanitarian conditions are worsening rapidly.
