Seventeen Bodies Retrieved From Gaza Rubble by Civil Defense
Searches continue in Gaza City and Nuseirat despite limited machinery under the current ceasefire agreement terms.

Civil Defense teams in Gaza confirmed on Sunday that they retrieved seventeen human remains from debris. Search efforts persist to find more victims trapped beneath collapsed structures across different areas of the strip.
This operation belongs to the second stage of a project aimed at recovering martyrs. The initiative started mid-July to locate individuals buried under ruins caused by Israeli attacks on residential buildings.
Sixteen bodies were pulled from Al-Zaytoun and Al-Yarmouk districts within Gaza City. These victims were members of the Hajji and Al-Nadeem families whose houses were demolished during intense bombardment campaigns.
Another single body was found in the Nuseirat refugee camp located in central Gaza. Rescue workers extracted this remain from the wreckage of a residence owned by the Al-War family in that area.
Progress remains slow because rescue crews lack sufficient heavy machinery for clearing large debris. This shortage continues even though the ceasefire deal active since October 2025 permits entry of such equipment.
Earlier phases recovered hundreds of bodies starting late last year. Officials state nearly nine thousand five hundred people are still missing, with many presumed trapped under destroyed infrastructure throughout the war-torn enclave region.
