Lebanon toll rises as soldier abuse video emerges
Health ministry updates casualty figures while rights group shares footage of a detained Palestinian man being thrown from a military vehicle.
The Lebanese health ministry reported that Israeli attacks have killed at least four thousand three hundred fifty-eight people since the invasion began on two March. The ongoing violence has also wounded twelve thousand three hundred fifty-nine others in the southern regions of the country during this specific period.
Officials stated that the total death toll since eight October two thousand twenty-three has now reached eight thousand nine hundred twenty-five dead individuals. Additionally, the cumulative number of wounded persons across the nation has risen to thirty thousand five hundred ninety-five since the conflict escalated last year.
On Saturday, authorities raised the casualty count following overnight strikes in the south and east. Four people were killed, including an eighteen-year-old girl, while thirty-two others sustained injuries. Several women and children were among the wounded in the Nabatieh region particularly during Friday operations.
In a separate incident in the West Bank, Israeli forces detained and beat a Palestinian man near Al-Mughayyir village. The Israeli rights group Looking the Occupation in the Eye documented the event, stating that soldiers interrogated the individual before discarding him from their transport.
Footage posted by the organization shows the man lying on the ground covering his face. Soldiers are seen closing the back door of the military vehicle before driving away from the scene. The group criticized the moral conduct of the troops involved in this harsh detention procedure.
These developments highlight continuing regional tensions and human rights concerns. The health ministry data reflects the severe impact of recent military campaigns on civilian populations in Lebanon.
